Vadodara Gas Limited (VGL), a Joint Venture Company (JVC) of GAIL Gas Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of GAIL India Limited) and Vadodara Municipal Seva Sadan (i.e. Vadodara Municipal Corporation) (VMC) was incorporated on September 13, 2013 to carry out the business of City Gas Distribution in the city of Vadodara and its adjoining areas. VGL started its operations with effect from October 01, 2014.

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has granted exclusive authorization to VGL for laying, building or expansion of Vadodara District City-Gas Distribution Network upto 31.03.2023 in Vadodara GA including Vadodara and Chhotaudepur districts.
